Garbage Collection Guidelines for Okubo 1 and 2-3 Chome


 

Proper waste disposal is a vital part of maintaining cleanliness and sustainability in urban areas, such as Shin-Okubo, located in Shinjuku City, Tokyo.

Due to differences in district-level regulations, Okubo 1 Chome and Okubo 2–3 Chome follow slightly different collection schedules.

ごみのルールをまもることは、まちをきれいにして、環境（かんきょう）をよくするためにとてもたいせつです。

新宿区（しんじゅくく）にある新大久保（しんおおくぼ）でも、ルールをまもるひつようがあります。



Residents are advised to check their specific address to follow the appropriate timetable.

Below are the official garbage collection days, as per the guidelines of Shinjuku City, for June 2025.


大久保１丁目（おおくぼ１ちょうめ）と大久保２・３丁目（おおくぼ２・３ちょうめ）では、ごみをあつめる日がすこしちがいます。

住所（じゅうしょ）を確認（かくにん）して、あなたの場所（ばしょ）の ルールをしっかりまもりましょう。

下のカレンダーは、新宿区（しんじゅくく）の ごみしゅうしゅう（ごみのあつめる日）のよていです（2025年6月ぶん）。

 Important Guidelines for Proper Waste Disposal

To ensure smooth and effective garbage collection in Shinjuku City, all residents are required to comply with the following official disposal protocols:


  • Garbage must be placed at the designated collection point no later than 8:00 AM on the scheduled collection day. Items disposed of late may not be collected.
  • Only officially approved garbage bags must be used. These are available for purchase at convenience stores, supermarkets, and other designated retailers within the city.
  • All waste must be correctly sorted by type, such as burnable, non-burnable, and recyclables, according to the local guidelines. Items such as plastic containers, PET bottles, and cans must be rinsed and dried before disposal to prevent odours and facilitate recycling.
  • Non-compliance with these rules, including the use of incorrect bags or improper, sorting may result in the refusal of collection. Repeated violations may also cause inconvenience or complaints from neighbours and the local community.

ごみの だしかたの たいせつな ルール

　　新宿区（しんじゅくく）で ごみをきちんとあつめるために、みなさんがルールをまもる　ことがたいせつです。

  • ごみは、しゅうしゅうび（ごみをあつめる日）の あさ8時までにきめられた場所（ばしょ）にだしてください。おそくだすと、あつめてもらえないことが あります。

  • せいしきな ごみぶくろをつかってください。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　このふくろは、コンビニや スーパーでかうことができます。

  • ごみは、「もえるごみ」「もえないごみ」「リサイクルごみ」などに、わけてください。
    　たとえば、プラスチックのいれもの、ペットボトル、かんなどは、あらってかわかしてからすててください。においやよごれをふせぐためです。

  • ルールをまもらない（ちがうふくろを つかう、ごみを まちがってまぜる）と、ごみが あつめてもらえないことが あります。何度もルールをまもらないと、近所（きんじょ）の人にめいわくをかけてしまうかもしれません。
