How to Dispose of Garbage Properly (Shinjuku / Shin-Okubo Area)

■ ごみの出し方のルール　Rules for Garbage Disposal

  1. きめられた時間（じかん）に出しましょう。Let's submit it at the scheduled time.
    　▶ 夜8時～深夜0時のあいだに出してください。
    　▶ Please take out your garbage between 8:00 PM and 12:00 AM.

  2. ごみはきめられた場所（ばしょ）にだしてください。Please put the garbage in the designated place.
    　▶ 建物前（たてものまえ）のごみおきば、またはきめられた収集場所（しゅうしゅうばしょ）にだしてください。
    　▶ Use the designated garbage area in front of your building or the specified collection point.

  3. 分別（ぶんべつ）してすてましょう。　Let's sort and dispose of it.
    　▶ 燃やすごみ（可燃ごみ）、資源ごみ（ペットボトル、かん、びん）、燃えないごみにわけてください。
    　▶ Separate your waste into burnable, recyclable (PET bottles, cans, bottles), and non-burnable categories.

  4. つつみかたのルールをまもりましょう。Let's follow the rules of wrapping.
    　- ビニールぶくろはしっかりしばってください。
    　- ペットボトルやかんは中をかるくすすいでから捨ててください。
    　- われたガラスやはものはかみにつつんで「きけん」とかいてください。

　▶ Tie plastic bags tightly.
　▶ Rinse bottles and cans before throwing them away.
　▶ Wrap broken glass or sharp items in paper and label them "Dangerous."
